Capnography, the measurement, and interpretation of end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2) levels, has become an invaluable tool in pre-hospital emergency medical settings, offering real-time insights into a patient’s respiratory status. This course is a basic review of the key fundamentals for the use of capnography as an important tool in the ALS toolbox.

• Demonstrate the ability to differentiate between ventilation, oxygenation, andrespiration.

• Demonstrate the techniques for confirming endotracheal (ET) tube placementusing capnography, ensuring precision and efficacy in airway management.
